CHI Salon:"Still They Remember Me": Penobscot Transformer Tales. The Center for Humanistic Inquiry hosts a conversation with Carol Dana, Margo Lukens and Conor Quinn, co-authors of the new University of Massachusetts Press volume, "Still They Remember Me": Penobscot Transformer Tales.

Carol Dana is a Penobscot language master and a poet. Margo Lukens is a scholar of Native American literature who has long collaborated with the Penobscot nation. Conor Quinn is a linguist who received his PhD at Harvard University and teaches Wabanaki languages as an adjunct assistant professor of linguistics at the University of Southern Maine. Carol, Margo and Conor will discuss the book and the process of collaboration which transformed an earlier ethnographic project by a non-Penobscot linguist into a community-led language revitalization tool.

Open to the public. This event will be virtual over Zoom. Registration is required.

This event is in collaboration with the Five College Native American and Indigenous Studies Program, the English and American Studies departments, the Faculty Lecture Fund, and the Frost Library Archives.
