Frost Library, 210 - CHI Think Tank

The Being Human at Amherst Summer Institute was a five-day pilot program in the summer of 2021 in which faculty/staff cohorts built on the successful student-driven "Being Human in STEM" model. In this salon, colleagues who participated in the institute will reflect on their experiences as members of the founding Being Human at Amherst cohort. We invite all attendees of the Salon, in partnership with Presidential Scholar Chanda Prescod-Weinstein, to reflect on ways they are centering humanity and relationships in their equity-seeking efforts. The institute was co-facilitated by Professors Sheila Jaswal (Chemistry, BCBP) and Sony Coráñez-Bolton (Spanish, Latinx and Latin American Studies), and Center for Teaching and Learning staff, Sarah Bunnell and Riley Caldwell-O’Keefe, with additional support from the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the Provost's Office, and the Center for Humanistic Inquiry.
