About the Artist

Yoko Asakai is a Japanese artist who works in photography. She earned her BFA in photography at the Rhode Island School of Design in 1998. Her works have been exhibited and purchased by the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, Shanghai Museum, Queensland Art Gallery & Gallery of Modern Art, and Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts. In 2008, she won a newcomer’s prize at Photo City Sagamihara and the 9th “Photo Premio” Special Award.  She lives and works in Tokyo, Japan.
