Community Engagement

We offer open drawing classes for the Amherst community and classes for gifted high school students during the academic year.  Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the department is unable to offer the Saturday classes for the 2020-2021 academic year.  We're also unable to offer evening drawing sessions for the Fall semester.  The decision to hold sessions for the Spring semester will be determined after January but it is unlikely they will occur.  We regret any disappointment this may cause.

Drawing classes are offered Thursday evenings and are open to students, faculty, staff and the greater Amherst community. Bring your own non-oil-based materials; there is no other cost to participate.

Saturday High School Class

Early in the fall, guidance counselors and art teachers from area schools recommend students to the class, which has a maximum enrollment of 24 students. Classes begin in mid-October.
