Research: My research area is experimental biological physics. My laboratory develops and applies methods of fluorescence-based metabolic sensing and microscopy imaging to piezophysiological studies. Recent papers have appeared in such journals as Analytical Chemistry, Journal of Biophotonics, and the Review of Scientific Instruments; all involve student co-authors.
My goal is to actively involve students in timely areas of biophysical research. I was awarded the 2015 College of Arts and Science Distinguished Educator Award for teaching and mentoring activities.
