Adult zebrafish

The Zebrafish Facility in the Science Center houses adult wild type, mutant, and transgenic zebrafish in a custom-built Aquaneering zebrafish facility. The facility is both light- and temperature- controlled and contains approximately 1,000 zebrafish. The adjoining pump room provides water flow to three floor-to-ceiling racks containing zerbrafish tanks on both sides of each rack. In addition to the main system, there is also a standalone quarantine system that allows us to receive zebrafish from outside laboratories. All zebrafish husbandry is performed by PI Trapani, research technician Stacey Beganny, undergraduate students, and our dedicated animal care technician, Robert Hamel.
