An introduction to the critical reading of Hispanic literary texts; an intensive review of Spanish grammar; training in composition, conversation and listening comprehension. Conducted in Spanish. Three hours a week in class and one hour with a teaching assistant. Prepares students for more advanced language and literature courses. This course counts for the major. Limited to 15 students. First semester: Professor Brenneis, Lecturer Ferrer-Medina, and Assistants. Second semester: Professors Suarez, Lecturer Maillo, and Assistants.
