For week #1, I want you to reflect on the newspaper account of Samantha Fishkin's struggle with amnesia. How did her loss of memory affect her personality and/or her sense of self? What do you see as the ultimate cause of her personality change? There are at least three possibilities: physical damage to her brain; emotional trauma from the accident and its aftermath; inability to remember her past?
