Description

Immersive composition projects according to the needs and experience of the individual student, deepening the experience gained in courses of study like Music 269. One class meeting per week and weekly private conferences. Guest composer presentations in a workshop environment and discussions on compositional topics. This course may be repeated; topics and projects change each semester. Music 387 and Music 388 need not be taken in order.

Requisite: MUSI 269 or the equivalent, and consent of the instructor. Fall semester. Visiting Professor Pukinskis.

Expectations

Students who enroll in this course will likely encounter and be expected to engage in the following intellectual skills, modes of learning, and assessment: emphasis on written work, independent research, oral presentations, group work, artistic work, visual analysis, aural analysis. Students with documented disabilities who will require accommodations in this course should be in consultation with Accessibility Services and reach out to the faculty member as soon as possible to ensure that accommodations can be made in a timely manner.
