Description

Culminating in one or more pieces of historical writing which may be submitted to the Department for a degree with Honors. Normally to be taken as a single course but, with permission of the Department, as a double course as well (499D).

Open to juniors and seniors. Spring semester. The Department.

Students who enroll in this course will likely encounter and be expected to engage in the following intellectual skills, modes of learning, and assessment: Senior honors work requires independent research, including the framing of a research question, identification and analysis of relevant primary and secondary sources, and writing of a thesis of significant length.
