Events Internship for Symphony Space

The Events Intern's focus is the Bar Thalia, (named after the Thalia theatre, the more intimate of Symphony Space’s two stages). The Bar provides all catering services at Symphony Space, and operates as a café offering a full bar and small plated food to the general public and to patrons of Symphony Space.

Film/Booking Internship

The intern provides administrative support to both the Booking Department and the Film Department, including collection of information for marketing and submission of internal event notices. 30 hours per week.

IT Internship

The IT intern works with the Director of Information Technology on the business of running an IT support organization for a non-profit. Candidates should be organized, capable of general administration duties (data entry, filing etc.) and willing to 'roll up their sleeves' and learn/sharpen support skills for Windows and Mac OS computers, printers etc. in a 30+ user environment.

Accounting Internship

The Accounting Intern works closely with the Director of Finance in providing general administrative support and also assisting in the weekly accounts payable. The position is a good opportunity to gain skills in bookkeeping and non-profit administration in general. 20 hours per week.

Business Administration Internship

The Business Administration Interns work on the sales and distribution of CDs from our literature series, Selected Shorts: A Celebration of the Short Story and the development and marketing of additional Symphony Space-related merchandise. This position is a great opportunity to learn about the overall operation of Selected Shorts branding activities involving the publishing industry, program distribution, and public radio.

Development (Fundraising) Internship

The Development Intern works on individual and institutional giving, membership and special events. The internship involves research, writing, database maintenance and general administrative duties. 30 hours per week.

Social Media Internship

This internship is specifically focused on using social media tools to increase our visibility and the traffic of the Symphony Space website and Symphony Space Live (SSL), a collection of programs recorded live at Symphony Space, which may be downloaded at our website.

Marketing Internship

The Marketing Intern provides assistance with the implementation of all marketing activities at Symphony Space. The marketing department is responsible for publicizing more than 200 events annually through advertising, brochures, fliers, press releases, special promotions and the website. 30 hours per week.
