The Loft Anthology: New England Poetry and Art is happy to announce that Denise Duhamel will be the final Judge for the 2013 Loft Prize for Poetry. All submissions will be considered for publication. A reading of winning and finalist poems will be held on June 6, 2013 at the Grand Hall and Garden Courtyard, Providence Public Library, Providence, RI. Call For Submissions in Creative Writing

Literary Laundry is excited to announce its fifth call for submissions. As always, all work submitted to the journal will be considered for our writing competitions. We are offering the following cash awards: $500 for the best poem, $500 for the best short story, and $250 for the best one-act drama. This writing competition is open to writers of all ages. Our most recent issue featured work from professors and graduate students, as well as from undergraduates.
Institute for Humane Studies Journalism Internship Program

Paid journalism internships for talented writers who support free markets, individual rights, and peace. Opportunities at nonprofit newsrooms, major media networks, newspapers, and new media sites. Applicants may also apply for funding for internships secured on their own. Program includes a stipend plus housing and travel assistance, and a seminar on freedom of the press. Apply by November 15 for spring and by January 31 for summer.
