Amherst Symphony Orchestra Welcomes Class of 2016 with “Famous Fifths” and Student Compositions in Concert Sept. 29

AMHERST, Mass. – The Amherst College Department of Music presents the Amherst Symphony Orchestra’s annual season-opening concert welcoming the Class of 2016. The concert will take place on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. in Buckley Recital Hall in the Arms Music Center at Amherst College. This concert is open to the public, and tickets may be purchased at the door. Seating is by general admission.

Clarinetist David Rothenberg performs “Bird, Whale, Bug: Music from Nature” as Amherst College Copeland Colloquium Continues Sept. 22

AMHERST, Mass.— The 2012-2013 Copeland Colloquium at Amherst College, a year-long series of performances, workshops, and talks whose theme explores the relationshipbetween art and place, continues with a performance by ECM recording artist David Rothenberg in partnership with the fourth annual Association for Contemplative Mind in Higher Education (ACMHE) conference. The concert takes place on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. in Buckley Recital Hall in the Arms Music Center at Amherst College. It is free and open to the public. No tickets are required; seating is by general admission.
