Work of Jazz Master Louie Armstrong, Writer Toni Morrison and Painter Romare Bearden Connected in Lecture by Columbia Professor Robert O’Meally on Feb. 22

AMHERST, Mass – Acclaimed author and jazz historian Robert G. O’Meally will offer a talk titled “Collage Aesthetic: Louis Armstrong, Romare Bearden, and Toni Morrison” at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 22 in Pruyne Lecture Hall (Fayerweather 115) at Amherst College.  A pre-talk reception titled "Collages, Cider, and Conversation: Pre-Lecture Museum Reception for Prof. Robert O'Meally Featuring Related Artworks in the Mead" will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the Mead Art Museum at Amherst College and will showcase items from the Mead’s collection related to Romare Bearden and the Jazz Age.  The talk and reception are free and open to the public.
