Named Yale’s Artists in Residence in 2014, the Brentano String Quartet has a long and warm relationship with Amherst College. In 2012, the Brentano provided the central music (Beethoven’s Opus 131) for the critically acclaimed independent film "A Late Quartet." At Amherst, the Brentano performs Mozart’s “Hunt” Quartet, K 458 and-- with their founding cellist, Michael Kannen, as a special guest --the Schubert Quintet.

“This was wonderful, selfless music-making.”—The Times (London)

Special Note: At Amherst, the Brentano String Quartet embarks on a three-concert live recording project under Professor Jenny Kallick’s auspices. For further information about the full details of Professor Kallick’s Schubert symposium, please see schubert.music.amherst.edu (no www.).
