The Carl Clements Quartet features Carl Clements on saxophones and flutes, Bennett Paster on piano, Jim Whitney on bass and Bob Weiner on drums. The repertoire will consist of original compositions for jazz quartet by Carl Clements. Clements is saxophone instructor and jazz combo coach at Amherst College and performs internationally in a variety of styles. Bennett Paster has performed internationally as a leader and with such musicians as Wallace Roney, Keb Mo, Robben Ford, Kurt Elling, Curtis Stigers, Rufus Reid, Bill Stewart, Billy Hart, Albert “Tootie” Heath, Ndugu Chancler and Yosvany Terry. Jim Whitney has a strong reputation as a bassist in the jazz and bluegrass worlds, is a longtime member of the Andy Statman Trio, and has appeared with jazz notables Anthony Braxton, Bill Frisell, Ray Anderson and Alan Dawson. Bob Weiner has toured and performed with Harry Belafonte, Itzhak Perlman, Betty Buckley, Jon Lucien, Dianne Reeves, Andy Statman, Rebecca Paris, Kenny Werner, Bob Moses and many others.
