Saturday evening, April 21, at 5 p.m., the Amherst College Chorus and Glee Club perform works both individually and combined. Featured works include folk music of the Pacific rim and Europe, and selections from Forrest Pierce’s All-Night Vigil of Rabi'a al-Adawiyya with cello accompaniment. Each group also presents music with texts by Amherst poets Robert Frost and Emily Dickinson.
The Amherst College Choral Society is led by Visiting Lecturer and Interim Choir Director Dr. Gregory W. Brown ’98 and Assistant Director Rebecca Ruescher ’17. Dr. Brown holds degrees from Westminster Choir College and The University of Georgia and maintains an active career as a composer.
Tickets may be purchased only at the door. Tickets are $10 for the general public; $5 for senior citizens, students with ID and children under 12; and free to Amherst and all Five College students with ID.
