Alexander String Quartet Performs Haydn, Shostakovich, Schubert as Music at Amherst Chamber Series Continues Feb. 23

AMHERST, Mass. – The 2012-2013 Music at Amherst Chamber Series continues with a concert of Haydn, Shostakovich and Schubert by the Alexander String Quartet on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. in Buckley Recital Hall in the Arms Music Center at Amherst College. The performance requires tickets and seating is assigned. Tickets may be reserved by calling 413/542-2195.
The Alexander String Quartet, appearing for the first time at Amherst College, has been performing together for more than three decades and has secured its standing among the world’s premier ensembles. The quartet is recognized for its cohesion, vivacity and virtuosic performances.
The box office for this performance opens on Feb. 11. Ticket prices are $28 for the general public, $22 for senior citizens and $12 for students. Amherst College student tickets are free.
