Study Abroad Policy

Since the study of religion is by its nature cosmopolitan and involves cross-cultural encounters,  the Religion Department strongly encourages our majors to study abroad. About half of our majors spend some portion of their Amherst career abroad.  Religion majors in recent years have studied in Greece, India, Sri Lanka, Peru, Beirut, Cairo, Jerusalem, and Scotland. Interested students should talk with their advisors and with the Study Abroad Office about how to plan a semester or summer abroad.
