Semyon Khanin is a Russian-language poet from Latvia whose books have appeared in most European languages. He is a translator of Latvian and American poetry into Russian, and editor of poetry collections of Russian and Latvian poets, many in innovative print formats. Khanin is a founding member of the multimedia poetry project Orbita, a creative collective of poets and visual artists whose works sustain a dialogue between various cultures and genres (including literature, music, video and photography). He is the author of numerous performances and installations at Europeans venues, including the Venice Biennale.  English translations of his poetry have appeared in many journals, and also in the collections, Hit Parade: The Orbita Group (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2015) and Orbita: The Project (Arc Publications, 2018).
