- Humanities: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Japanese, Latin, Music, Philosophy, Russian, Spanish.

- Quantitative Disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Geology, Mathematics & Statistics, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology.

Interested in becoming a Spanish peer tutor?

Full-time Amherst College students with an Advanced and Superior level of Spanish proficiency are welcome to serve as Spanish peer tutors. If a student is interested in applying to be a Spanish peer tutor, the student must first be approved by faculty of the Department of Spanish. The student must contact a professor he/she has taken a course with by requesting approval of the Program. If a student has not taken any course in the Department of Spanish at Amherst College, the student must contact Daniela Narváez Burbano (Lecturer in Spanish) by requesting approval of the Program. Students can request their approval at any time. Each semester Spanish peer tutors who have already been approved by faculty must contact Lecturer Daniela Narváez Burbano, expressing their interest in continuing to serve as peer tutors. Otherwise, they will be dropped from the Peer Tutoring Program. More detailed information about how to apply to be a peer tutor for a department is available through this link.
