ACADEMIC INTERNSHIPS

Some faculty in Theater and Dance hire academic interns to help them with their research and other professional activities, through the Greg Call Academic Internship Program.  Contact individual faculty in theater and dance to inquire about the current availability of these positions.

PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIPS

Professional internships allow you to apply what you have learned in the classroom in the world of work, help you build a professional network, and explore your interests, skills, and career goals. The Loeb Center provides all students with opportunities to dive deeply into specific career areas of interest. Our Arts & Communication Program is led by an advisor who has worked in the field and includes career exploration travel and events, programs that connect students to alumni and employers, and skill-building workshops.

The Loeb Center can help you discover and prepare for summer opportunities through special internship programs like the Charles Hamilton Houston Internship Program, and internship-specific advising. For more information, visit the Loeb Center's Find an Internship webpage. You can also schedule an appointment to talk with a Loeb Center advisor through Handshake. Handshake is your one-stop shop for Loeb Center events, appointments and resources, and a wide variety of internship and job opportunities.

In addition, the Theater and Dance department has compiled a spreadsheet of opportunities that may be of interest to you.

Deadlines to apply for summer internships can be as early as January. Researching internships can be time-consuming; we recommend getting a start during the fall semester.

You should also consult with Theater and Dance department faculty, alumni and older peers about the variety of internships in theater and dance that may be available, and how to search for others.
