Theater & Dance African American Dance Symposium: Film Screening of "Check Your Body at the Door"

Check Your Body at the Door is about the remarkable underground House dancing in NYC's golden decade - the 1990s. Featuring rare dance club footage, the film follows these legendary House Dancers to clubs, their jobs and in their everyday lives.

This event is part of "African American Dance: Form, Function and Style!" and is sponsored by the Theater and Dance Department, Five College Dance Department, The Arts at Amherst Initiative, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Center for Community Engagement and African and Caribbean Students Union.

This event is open to the Five College community.
