Learning by doing intentionally links direct experience with analysis and critical reflection. It is designed to support learning, inquiry, and action inside and outside of the classroom. The CCE fosters collaboration and connections across campus and community by developing and implementing inclusive educational practices that allow students to make connections between the intellectual rigors of academic study and the needs and expertise of the community.

Community-Based Learning

Community-based learning courses add complexity and urgency to students’ critical grasp of social, political, and cultural issues by connecting the intellectual rigors of academic study with the needs and expertise of the community.

Resources for Faculty

CCE staff can provide resources to help faculty members facilitate meaningful connections with the community. These resources are beneficial for faculty as well as their students, particularly in the context of coursework and research projects.
