As part of our program to support chairs of academic departments and programs, on an annual basis, each chair is asked to submit an update on departmental and program activities that have taken place over the course of the academic year, and plans for the future.  For example, you might share information about the hiring of faculty and staff, curricular developments, revisions to your learning goals, assessment activities, the ways in which you are addressing recommendations that are outgrowths of external reviews, and issues surrounding space and/or your budget.
