Registration Holds & How To Address Them

Please note you must first check AC DATA (under Register/ Registration Requirements) to determine which holds are blocking your registration. 

The following is a list of registration holds that will prevent students from making changes to their registrations during the Add/Drop period.  If you have one of these holds, please follow the instructions listed below to resolve your issue.

Receiving this hold indicates you have not completed the Study Abroad evaluation.  Please contact Dean Janna Behrens at x2265 or jbehrens@amherst.edu if you have any questions or if you need the evaluation link re-sent to you.    

Controller

Receiving this hold indicates you still have a balance outstanding on your student account.  Please review the details of this balance on your student account statement on ACDATA at https://acdata.amherst.edu before contacting our office.

Please handle payment by one of the following means:  In Person:  Deliver your payment to the Controller’s Office, College Hall, 2nd Floor. Overnight Mail:  Amherst College, Student Accts. Dept., 155 South Pleasant St., College Hall, 2nd Floor, Amherst, MA 01002.  Electronic Payments:  Payment from banking account (“e-check”) or by credit card is available at www.amherst.edu/go/payment Should you have further questions regarding your account, please contact the Student Accounts Office at (413) 542-2817, 2816 or 2811.

Financial Aid    

This hold indicates your Amherst College Financial Aid application remains incomplete. Please log on to the online 'NetPartner' system to view the status of your application to determine what materials are outstanding. Use the following link to access this system: amherst.edu/go/netpartner. Your username and password are your Amherst College username and password. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Financial Aid office at 413-542-2296. You may also visit the Office of Financial Aid in the basement of Converse Hall, room B-5.

Health    

This hold indicates your Entrance Health Records are incomplete.  Please contact the Health Center at 413-542-2267 and a Medical Assistant will inform you of what is needed to meet the registration requirements.  Or you may visit the Keefe Health Center on College Street. 

Registrar    
This hold indicates that you are missing either a transcript, your grades are incomplete from last semester, or you need to declare your major.  If you are missing a transcript from an educational leave or a make-up course, please contact the program to have an official transcript sent immediately.  If you are missing a grade please contact the instructor and ask him or her to submit the grade ASAP.  It may be that you need to complete a course evaluation.  If that is the case, please contact the department coordinator for the course department.  If you need to declare a major, please return your signed form to the Registrar’s Office in Converse Hall, Room 101.  Contact the Registrar’s Office at x2226 for information or send an email to registrar@amherst.edu if you have any questions.
