When you submit a course for registration you will either be successful--in which case the course will be added to your list of current registrations--or you will fail and receive one of the following errors.
RERRG02A: Degree Incomplete or Degree Pending - Ineligible to Register
What to do: Contact the Registrar about your student status.
RERRG06A: Juniors and seniors must have a declared major before registering
What to do: If a junior or senior, check with the Registrar about your major. If a sophomore, declare a major or check with Registrar about why your declaration hasn't been processed. If a first-year, check with the Registrar about your class level.
RERRG03I: Ineligible to Register-Registration from previous term is incomplete.
What to do: Contact the Registrar and inquire about any registration problem with any of the courses you are currently taking.
RERRG07A: Student's class level not eligible for this section.
RERRG07B: Student's class level not eligible for this section.
What to do: Check the course description to see whether the course is closed to certain classes (e.g., sophomores, juniors, and seniors can't take first-year seminars). If you believe you are eligible for the course, contact the Registrar.
RERRG04A: Student is registering for too many half courses.
What to do: If you want to register for two or more half courses, you need to complete a "Permission" form signed by both your academic advisor and class dean.
RERRG04B: Student is registering for too many Special Topics courses.
What to do: You need the permission of your class dean to take more than one Special Topics course per semester.
RERRG04C: Student is registering for too many Five College courses.
What to do: Students are allowed to take two 5-college courses per semester. Choose another course at Amherst.
RERRG04D: Student is registering for too many courses.
What to do: You need the permission of your class dean in order to register for more than 18 credits (four standard courses and one half course) in any semester.
RERRG04E: CHEM 151 (formerly CHEM 11) and MATH 105 (formerly MATH 05) cannot be taken in the same term.
What to do: Register for one or the other.
RERRG04F: ANTH-113 (formerly ANTH 13) cannot be taken by a student who has taken ANTH-111 (formerly ANTH 11).
What to do: Choose another course.
