Boston University Madrid Level II & Level III

Level II Advanced Language and University Studies program is for students with proficiency in Spanish.  If enrolling for the fall semester, all courses will be taken at the Instituto Internacional en España.  If enrolling in the spring semester or full academic year, courses can be taken at the Instituto and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM).  Amherst does not award credit for internships, therefore students interested in participating in the internship program must take it in addition to a full course load.  Spanish majors must consult with the department for credit in the major.

Level III is for students with a strong command of the Spanish language and the program offers direct enrollment at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) and take a core seminar course on contemporary Spain prior to the start of the classes at the University.  Amherst does not award credit for internships, therefore students interested in participating in the internship program must take it in addition to a full course load.  Spanish majors must consult with the department for credit in the major.

Language pre-requisites:

5+ semesters of college-level Spanish or the equivalent required.
