Hosted by Humboldt Universität, Freie Universität and Technische Universität. Both the Language & Area Studies and Metropolitan Studies programs are approved for Amherst College credit. IES allows direct enrollment at the host universities as well as IES-taught courses. Amherst strongly encourages you to take courses at one or both of the host universities.
Students must receive credit through the University of Rochester, the school of record for IES. Students are welcome to participate in the internship program but will not receive credit for the course.
German majors must consult with the department for credit in the major.Language pre-requisites:
4 semesters of college-level German or the equivalent
