Study Abroad

Smith in Geneva

Geneva, Switzerland

Students must take a full course load during the semester.  Students may only receive credit for track B.  Students with less than four semesters of French must petition the faculty Committee on International Education to attend the program.  We encourage students to participate in the internship program, it is an excellent way to be immersed in Swiss life.  However, no credit is awarded for the internship (and therefore Track A is not approved). Concurrent with Amherst policy, no credit is awarded for orientation courses even if required by the program.

Language pre-requisites:

Full year: 4 semesters of college-level French or the equivalent (fewer courses offered in English at the university)
