Students must apply as a "visiting student" since Amherst is not an exchange partner. Students are strongly encouraged to apply early, for visa and housing purposes.

Students are expected to take Chinese language as one of their program courses. 

Financial aid students studying abroad for the fall, spring, or full year in China or a Chinese-speaking country should consider applying for a Chia Fellowship. Chia Fellows are funded to spend the summer in a Chinese-speaking country on an approved internship, research, or other study abroad program.
