Searching for Funding

Finding the right funding opportunities for your project can be a time consuming process. To help you in your search, we are happy to provide the following resources:

Databases with comprehensive listings of grant competitions:
  • Community of Science (COS). With a database of over 400,000 research funding opportunities, Community of Science (COS) is an excellent resource for faculty in all disciplines, including the social sciences, humanities, and arts. COS offers a number of different search options to meet your needs, including the "Main" search engine that enables you to construct targeted, field-specific searches. Before you start, read the COS Search Tips , which will help you to use this database effectively.
  • Grant Advisor Plus. While not as comprehensive as COS, the Grant Advisor Plus provides concise, up-to-date information about upcoming competitions in a user-friendly format. You can browse their monthly newsletter, review funding opportunities by discipline, or perform targeted searches of their database.
