Peer Tutoring is available to students, free of charge, who are enrolled in Amherst courses and, for a variety of reasons, find themselves in need of tutorial assistance. The Peer Tutoring Program is overseen by the Office of Student Affairs located in Room 201 of Converse Hall. Please read the information below about how to obtain a peer tutor.
Peer tutors are approved by faculty in the following disciplines:
Humanities (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Japanese, Latin, Music, Philosophy, Russian, Spanish)
Quantitative Disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Geology, Mathematics & Statistics, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology)
Peer Tutoring During COVID-19
Peer tutoring is still a resource while the college functions remotely. Peer Tutors and Tutees should work with each other to find a good way to communicate (Facetime, Duo, Zoom, etc.).
To get paid, Peer Tutors should email Raphaela Wade email@example.com for instructions on submitting their hours.
