A photo of birds flying at sunset with the words: Freedom Amherst College's Speaking competition 2021 Speaking contests and speaking prizes have been favorite traditions at Amherst since the very beginning of the College’s history, and this year we were proud to continue the tradition virtually! The theme for this year’s speaking competition was “Freedom.”

Student speakers competed remotely on February 25, 2021. We’ve announced the winners below; also below, please enjoy the recording of the event.

“Freedom” is sponsored by the Writing Center and hosted by Susan Daniels, associate in public speaking.
