Writers need readers. Speakers need to be heard.

In the Writing Center, students learn to interpret prompts, brainstorm ideas, develop arguments, organize, practice, and revise. In a welcoming and dynamic environment, students learn strategies and build confidence as writers, speakers, and readers. At any stage in your creative and intellectual process, our team of professional writing and speaking associates can share strategies, offer feedback, and coach on revision and presentation. Writing Center services are open to all current Amherst College students and to Five-College students in support of their work for Amherst College classes.
