The college application process involves lots of details and multiple documents that can be challenging to manage, so we've created some online tools to help you keep track of everything. You can use your online Application Status Portal to verify that we have received all your admission application materials and your Financial Aid Portal to verify that all your finanical aid materials have been received.

How does the Application Status Portal work?

Amherst College uses a secure online Application Status Portal (ASP) system to help you determine whether we have received all the materials required to complete your application. The same portal will also allow you to verify the accuracy of the contact information that we have gathered from your application and entered into our database. About a week after we receive your application, we will send you a follow-up email with detailed instructions for establishing your account credentials and accessing your Application Status Portal.

Email Address: Throughout the admission season, we will send emails to you with important updates, notices and other information concerning the status of your Admission application, so it is extremely important that you provide an accurate, reliable email address that you monitor regularly.

  • If your email address changes to one different than provided on your application, please notify us promptly. To do so, use the Applicant Contact Information Change Form available at your Application Status Portal.
  • If your email server uses a filtering system, please be sure to add admission@amherst.edu to your list of acceptable email senders.

How does the Financial Aid Portal work?

If you have indicated an intention to apply for financial aid, our Office of Financial Aid will create a secure, personalized Financial Aid Portal (FAP) that will allow you to determine whether the college has received all the required forms and supporting documents needed to complete your financial aid application. You will use the same account login credentials for both your ASP and your FAP.
