Programs for Admitted and New Students
Admission Office Programs for Admitted First-Year Students
Every April, after all admitted applicants have been notified and before the May 1 response date, the Amherst College Office of Admission sponsors several events for admitted first-year students: on-line chats with current Amherst students; on-campus open houses; and admitted student receptions across the country. Click here to learn more about those programs.
Dean of Students Office Programs for New Students
In May, after admitted students have confirmed their intention to matriculate at Amherst, new students will receive extensive information from the Dean of Students Office about preparation for arrival at Amherst and about details of the New Student Orientation Program. Although details are not finalized until early spring, you can click here to learn more about the kinds of services, programs and information typically provided by the Dean of Students Office for new students, including New Student Orientation, New Student FAQ and the First Year Guidebook. Please remember that these materials were prepared for the Class of 2017, entering in Fall 2013, and are provided here for illustrative purposes only; dates and details will change for students entering Amherst in Fall 2014.
Programs for Parents of New Students
Parents are important, too! Through our Alumni and Parents Programs, parents are encouraged to become part of the Amherst family. Click here for more information on the opportunities for parents to learn more about Amherst and become involved in the Amherst community.
