ACT recently announced the cancellation of the September 9 ACT test administration at selected international locations in Asia, South Asia and Oceania. ACT will not be rescheduling a makeup date for the cancelled test. If you were registered to take the September ACT in one of the affected locations, you will receive an email from ACT with instructions on how to make a registration change to a future test date at no charge. The next scheduled ACT test administration is October 28; scores for that test date will be available starting November 14.
If you are intending to apply to Amherst College as an Early Decision applicant and you have been affected by the September ACT cancellation, please note the following:
- Score reports for the October 28 ACT or the November 11 ACT (Hong Kong and Macau only), should reach us in time for consideration at the Early Decision stage, assuming no delay in the typical timeline for release of ACT score reports.
- Score reports for the December 9 ACT will not reach us in time for ED consideration. Therefore, if you wish to leave open the possibility of submitting recent test results, we encourage you to register as soon as possible for the October 28 test. While the registration deadline is not until September 22, testing capacity may be reached before then, so you should register promptly.
We hope this information will be helpful as you plan your college application process. If you have any questions about the Early Decision process, please don’t hesitate to contact us at email@example.com.
