Community College Transfer Open House

Amherst College cordially invites community college students, faculty, and staff to attend our 13th annual Community College Transfer Open House on Monday, November 12, 8:15 am - 5:00 pm. To attend, prospective students must complete our online Community College Transfer Open House Registration Form (available through link below). The planned schedule of events for the open house includes attending Amherst College classes, lunch, an information session on Admission and Financial Aid, a campus tour, a transfer student panel, and a reception. Transfer students from four-year institutions are not eligible to attend the open house. High school students enrolled in community college courses as part of any dual-enrollment, early graduation or other accelerated completion of secondary school are also not eligible to attend the open house.
Funding Opportunities: To guarantee that all interested community college students may see the College, Amherst will reimburse travel expenses up to $100 for registered guests to the program who demonstrate financial need, including mileage, bus, and train tickets the day of the event. Amherst College will not coordinate transportation to and from airports in the area. Students will receive information on reimbursement once they have submitted the following "Community College Transfer Open House Registration Form" and are eligible for the program. Please note: Housing will not be provided. Students requiring overnight accommodations must make and pay for those arrangements themselves.
Open House Registration Form: To attend the Community College Transfer Open House, you must complete and submit our online open house registration form by Wednesday, October 31st. (To ensure your place, early submission is recommended.) The open house registration form should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. You will not be able to save and return later to your form. Therefore, before beginning the registration process, you should prepare in advance to:
- answer questions about your biographical background (e.g. parental level of education, name, address);
- answer questions about your academic background (e.g. intended major, GPA);
- submit a copy of an unofficial college transcript from your current community college.

PLEASE NOTE: This open house registration is used only for visiting Amherst College as part of our Community College Transfer Open House. It is NOT an application for admission to Amherst College. To apply for transfer admission, students must complete the Common Application or Coalition Application. Faculty or Staff? Interested community college faculty and staff are also welcomed to attend the Open House. It is not necessary for faculty and staff to submit an application. Instead, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com letting us know of your intention to visit.
