The Amherst College academic calendar can be found at the following website.
A few days after we receive your application, we will create an Amherst account for you and send you an e-mail explaining how you can set your Amherst username and password. The username and password that you establish can be used to login to your "My Amherst" page to confirm biographical information we have received from you and will want you to verify. These systems are multi-purpose and, therefore, some of the fields that appear are not relevant to your status as an applicant. Instead, these fields may be used later if you enroll as an Amherst students. The same username and password can be used to login to the ACData Website to check whether or not we have received specific application materials. If your e-mail server uses a filtering system, please be sure to add email@example.com to your list of acceptable e-mail senders so that you receive this important email.

In lieu of the SAT, an applicant may take just the ACT (with essay recommended), but must submit the composite score and all corresponding sub-scores. If the applicant submits multiple ACT results (from different test administrations), our database uses the highest subscore for each test component (regardless of test date) to recalculate the composite and provide the highest "score of record" for evaluation of the student's application.
Amherst College has set the following deadlines for applications:
Early Decision deadline: November 15th
Regular Decision deadline: January 1st
Transfer - Spring deadline: November 1st
Transfer - Fall deadline: March 1st

The Common Application has moved to a completely online system this year and is available in electronic form only; paper versions are not available. As a result, we are unable honor requests for PDF or paper versions of the admission application.
Students who have special talents in music, dance, theater or visual arts may wish to submit supplementary arts materials for evaluation by Amherst faculty. Information about your arts background and samples of your artistic work must be submitted online through the Amherst College SlideRoom site.
