Amherst College releases admission decisions online via an applicant's secure, online ACData account. Applicants will receive an email several days in advance of the decision release date to provide details about how to access the online decision notification. All admitted students will also receive a hardcopy version of the letter of admission through the mail. All other applicants will receive a hardcopy decision letter only upon request to the Office of Admission.
First year applicants should receive their online decision notifications around mid-December (for Early Decision) or the first week in April (for Regular Decision).
Transfer applicants should receive their online decision notifications around mid-December (for Spring semester transfer) or the first week in May (for Fall semester transfer).
ETHNICITY CHANGE TO SOMETHING OTHER THAN HISPANIC/LATINO OR NON-HISPANIC LATINO
Unfortunately, we are unable to make your request change due to U.S. government reporting reporting requirements. These requirements instruct us to identify all applicants by one of two ethnicity identifications, Hispanic/Latino or Non-Hispanic/Latino.
Amherst College does not conduct on-campus or off-campus interviews as part of our application process. However, we do hope you will visit our campus to learn more about Amherst. It is not necessary to sign up in advance for tours and information sessions. You can find the times online at the following website:

MYAMHERST SYSTEMS AND ACDATA CORRECTIONS
Please email us at email@example.com with changes/corrections to your ACData record in our database. These changes will take about 24 hours to appear online.
These data correction systems are multi-purpose and, therefore, some of the fields that appear may not be relevant to your status.
PAPER APPLICATION REQUEST
The Common Application has moved to a completely online system this year and is available in electronic form only; paper versions are not available. As a result, we are unable honor requests for PDF or paper versions of the admission application.
RACIAL IDENTIFICATIONS (MULTI-RACIAL APPLICANTS)
Although our online applicant profile system may display only one field for race, please note that we are able to record multiple racial identifications in our applicant database and have done so based on the information we received from your submitted application and any subsequent correspondence with our office.
If you elect to submit the SAT to satisfy Amherst's application requirement for standardized testing, you must submit the SAT I (Critical Reading / Math / Writing) and two SAT II subject tests (in subjects of your choice).
If you submit multiple SAT I results from different test administrations, our database will use the highest scores for each SAT component (regardless of test date) to provide the highest "score of record" for the applicant's file. It is those highest scores that are used in evaluating an applicant.
If you plan to apply regular decision, we urge you to complete your standardized tests by December 31st. If you must take any of your standardized tests in January, we do not recommend that you rush your scores to Amherst College. Instead, we suggest that you access your test scores online, print a copy of your internet delivery scores and fax them to our office at 413-542-2040 as soon as possible.
SAT OR ACT "WAIVED" IDENTIFICATION IN AC DATA
We require first-year applicants to submit the SAT I with two SAT II Subject Tests or the ACT. When we enter into our database test results that fulfill our standardized testing requirements in one way, the system automatically "waives" the other testing option. Please feel free to disregard this identification.
