Orientation Welcome

Our students - new and continuing - have returned to campus!

We are thrilled that our Amherst College community of students, faculty and staff has been able to return to fully in-person learning this year!

It began with New Student Orientation, when we welcomed 532 new first-year and transfer students from around the country and across the world for a week of learning, bonding and purple balloons. A busy schedule of events culminated in two traditionally signature events of New Student Orientation: the DeMott Lecture and Convocation. Then it was down to work for everyone with the start of fall semester classes on August 30.

You can learn more about the policies, procedures and protocols that have made our return to campus possible at the College's Covid-19 webpage.

As fundamentally disorienting as these times have been, we look forward enthusiastically to the future and we send our sincere best wishes for the health and well-being of you, your family and friends, and your community.
