Our 65th is only months away and your committee is hard at work. One of the first things we have to do is get a rough idea of our expected attendance.
To help us do that, please fill in the enclosed card indicating your current expectations for returning to our 65th Reunion and return it to our Class of 1951 liaison at Amherst, Sandy Riley. (This commits you to nothing. We simply need a rough idea of expected attendance for planning purposes.)
Reunion dates are Wed., May 25 – Sun., May 29 (Memorial Day weekend)
Key events specifically scheduled for the Class of 1951 are:
Friday afternoon – Memorial Service led by Wally
Friday night – Dinner in Valentine
Saturday night – Class Dinner in Valentine with Officer
and Nominating Committee reports, etc.
Housing for the Class of 1951 (and earlier classes) will be in James. At no charge to us, the College is providing housing for each alumni and widow, plus one guest, in James; continental breakfasts; and an open bar. The fee per person will probably be less than $100.
For your general information, over the Homecoming Weekend the reunion committee, class officers, other classmates and spouses (in other words, most everyone at Homecoming) met to plan the reunion and made the following decisions:
$1700 of the Class of 1951’s current available funds (roughly $2700) will be used to pay for some of our reunion costs, thus allowing us to minimize attendance fees.
Subcommittee chairs were appointed as follows:
Attendance – Phil Knowles
Decorations – Fred Luddy
Memorial Service – Wally Anderson
Music – Fred Luddy and Hank Williams
Souvenirs – Lu Tingley
Words of the Wise – Dick Sexton
Hope to see you at Reunion! VAN TINGLEY
