We are organizing a set of mentoring programs at the college entitled Making a difference and Making a Living. The program in the spring of ’08 was attended by thirty students, and was described by one of the students as “one of the best events of her four years at Amherst.” We will be sponsoring mentoring sessions with distinguished alumni coming to campus both in the fall of ’08 and the spring of ’09.
Brian Boyle from the class of ’69 will present a conference on how to supply home energy using solar power. Brian received his Ph.D. from MIT and has managed the building of his solar powered house at Truro, Cape Cod. The presentation will be made at the reunion in 2009.
The Journal of Inter-Religious Dialogue™ is a forum for academic, social, and timely issues affecting religious communities around the world. Published online, it is designed to increase both the quality and frequency of interchanges between religious groups and their leaders and scholars. By fostering communication, the Journal hopes to contribute to a more tolerant, pluralistic society.
