Homecoming 2019 Message from '93 Class President

Greetings from Amherst!
Join us October 25–27, 2019, to celebrate Homecoming!
Homecoming is a celebration of what makes Amherst so enduring: our alumni. We can’t wait to welcome you back to campus for three days of intellectual exploration, conversation, friendship and community. And Atkins cider, maybe with just a splash of bourbon.
You’ll recall last year’s Lord Je… Mammoth football win over Williams, 45-14, capping an exciting 8-1 season for Amherst. This year’s Homecoming is two weeks earlier than in 2018—guaranteeing beautiful fall foliage, warm apple cider and donuts and a host of other great reasons to visit Amherst. We’ll be tailgating at the game together with the classes of 1990-1994—with food, drink and lively conversation all on the menu. And, of course, over the weekend you can enjoy the usual lineup of on-campus activities, including lectures, panels, museum tours, receptions and more.
For the full schedule of activities, visit amherst.edu/go/homecoming.
Pratt Field details: There is ample parking around campus and in the field adjacent to Pratt off Route 9. Access from Hitchcock Road is pedestrian-only, and handicapped parking is available through the Route 9 entrance. Tents for groups of classes will be on the west end, so look for our class on the map at each entrance. Student clubs and organizations will have tables and tents on the east end of the field to connect with alumni. The field will open at 8 a.m., though most tailgates will not get going until noon.
After the games, the party continues in the Coolidge Cage with food, drink, music and kids’ activities from 3–5 p.m.
Let’s build on a strong year of connection between our class and the College: 64 percent of us volunteered, hosted interns, attended events or gave back to Amherst in some way. We can keep that momentum going by coming together in October.
It won’t be the same without you, so we hope you’ll start making your Homecoming plans now. To register, visit amherst.edu/go/homecoming.
