Remembering Two Former Influential Trustees

George Shinn and Edward NeyThe passing of George Shinn '45, a banking executive who led the Amherst board when the college decided to admit women in the 1970s, was noted by The New York Times and Wall Street Journal. Edward Ney '46, a lifetime trustee and advertising legend, was memorialized in Ad Age and Ad Week. More detailed obituaries can also be found on the college's In Memoriam page.
