After an inclusive and deliberative planning process, the college has announced plans to slow previously planned growth in the budget in response to the economic downturn. Controlling costs in a range of areas will allow Amherst to maintain and strengthen the quality of the education it provides, preserving the close colloquy of a faculty of extraordinary teacher-scholars with a talented and diverse student body. Read statements from President Anthony W.
