In a glowing review of On Poets & Poetry, the newest publication by Henry Clay Folger Professor of English William H. Pritchard ’53, contributor David Yezzi writes that Pritchard’s “essays read like colloquies between ­- affable lovers of literature on which we are allowed to ­eavesdrop… [His] balanced and expert appraisals put more willfully idiosyncratic and ingenious critics to shame.”
