2001 Nobel Laureate Joseph E. Stiglitz ’64, economics professor at Columbia University and member of Amherst’s board of trustees, has co-authored a thought-provoking book examining the monetary consequences of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. Since the release of The Three Trillion Dollar War: The True Cost of the Iraq Conflict, Stiglitz has discussed the book’s findings in testimony before Congress’s Joint Economic Committee, in opinion pieces that appeared in The Washington Post (registration required) and The Los Angeles Times and in interviews with National Public Radio’s “Fresh Air”Newsweek magazine, and Britain’s Telegraph TV, among other outlets.
