With so many items to display and relatively little space to exhibit them, the storage areas of the college’s Mead Art Museum and Museum of Natural History are full of pieces ranging from the beautiful and intricate to the strange and macabre. Mead Director and Chief Curator Elizabeth Barker and Museum of Natural History Collections Manager Kate Wellspring dish on their respective institutions’ mermaids, moustaches and other treasures.
